Requirements for Identity Documents

Identity VerificationRevision: 2026-06-26Language: EN

To pass document verification, your ID must be legible, undamaged, in date, and photographed without glare or obstructions.

The quality of your document photo is one of the most important factors in a successful verification. Poor image quality is the most common reason for an automated check to fail. Follow the guidelines below to give your submission the best chance of passing first time.

01

Photo requirements

All four corners of the document must be visible in the frame.
The photo must be in sharp focus — avoid camera shake by resting your hand or using a flat surface.
There must be no glare, reflections, or flash hotspots obscuring any part of the document.
The document must be photographed flat, not at an angle.
Do not cover any part of the document with your fingers or other objects.
Ensure the text, photo, and machine-readable zone are all legible.
02

Document condition

The document must be currently valid — expired documents are not accepted.
The document must not be damaged, torn, or have illegible sections.
Laminated documents must not have significant bubbling or peeling.
Handwritten alterations or unofficial stamps are not accepted.

If you are using a mobile device, make sure your camera lens is clean before taking the photo. Shoot in good natural or indoor lighting and avoid dark or overly bright environments. If the in-app camera does not produce a clear image, try adjusting the angle or moving to a different room before retrying.
