How Can I Request Deletion of My Personal Data

Data Access & DeletionRevision: 2026-06-26Language: EN

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data — learn how to submit a request to the business or to ONEKYC.

Under applicable data protection law, including the GDPR, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This is sometimes called the 'right to be forgotten'. You can exercise this right in relation to the data held by the business that requested your verification, and separately in relation to any data held by ONEKYC.

01

Step 1: Contact the requesting business

The business that initiated your verification is the primary controller of your personal data. Send a written deletion request to their data protection officer or privacy contact. The business is required to respond within 30 days under GDPR, and to delete your data unless they have a legal obligation to retain it (for example, anti-money laundering regulations may require them to keep records for a minimum period).

02

Step 2: Contact ONEKYC

If you also want to request deletion of data held by ONEKYC — including any data associated with your ONEKYC ID — email legal@onekyc.io with the subject line 'Data Deletion Request'. Include your full name, the name of the business that requested your verification, and the approximate date of the verification.

We will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, in line with applicable data protection law, subject to any legal retention obligations.
We will confirm in writing when the deletion is complete.
Note that deletion of your ONEKYC ID data means you will need to go through a full verification again if a business requests one in future.
