Short Video Check
Selfie & LivenessRevision: 2026-06-26Language: EN
The short video check records a brief clip to confirm your live presence — learn what to expect and how to get the best result.
Some verification flows include a short video check in addition to or instead of a standard selfie step. This involves recording a brief video clip — usually just a few seconds — so the system can confirm your live presence and match your face to your identity document.
01
What happens during the video check
You will be asked to position your face within the on-screen guide.
The camera will record a short clip automatically — you do not need to press a record button.
No specific actions are required — you will not be asked to turn your head, blink, or perform gestures.
The clip is then analysed to confirm liveness and to extract a face for matching against your document.
02
Getting the best result
Use the front-facing camera in a well-lit space.
Keep your face within the guide throughout the recording.
Avoid rapid movements — hold a steady, stable frame.
Ensure there is no strong backlight behind you.
Remove glasses if your lenses have a strong tint or anti-reflective coating that may interfere with face detection.
The video clip is processed securely and used only for identity verification purposes. It is not stored beyond the period required for the business's compliance obligations. If the video check fails, you will usually be offered the opportunity to retry.
